“The Preacher Was Right!”
That’s what a fellow said to his friends about the
topic of conversion.
After he and his comrades had discussed the matter
thoroughly,
Arriving at the unanimous conclusion, he was heard
to remark, “Well,
I guess the preacher was right after all.” He acted
a little surprised!
Noah,
“a preacher of righteousness”.” (II Peter 2:5), was
right when
he said, “A flood is coming.”
Moses
and Aaron were right when they told Pharaoh
of the impending
Plagues on
Egypt. (Exodus 7-12)
Samuel
was right when he told Saul he was being terminated
as king of
Israel because of his disobedience. (I Samuel 15:26)
Nathan
was right when he told King David, “You are the
man!” (II Samuel 12:7)
“The Preacher” (Ecclesiastes 1:1), was right
when he concluded all as vanity,
except fearing the Lord and keeping His
commandments. (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14)
Isaiah
and Jeremiah were right when they said
Jerusalem would be carried to
Babylon. (II Kings 20)
John
was right when he told Herod it was not lawful for
him to be married to his
brother’s wife. (Matthew 14:4)
Peter
was right when he told sinners to repent and be
baptized in the name of Christ for
remission of their sins. (Acts 2:38)
Paul
was right when he said a new life begins when one is
baptized into Christ.
(Romans 6:3-4)
Jesus
was right when he said no one can come to the Father
except by Him. (John 14:6)
Today, as before, every preacher is right who
preaches the Word (II Timothy 4:2), speaks
As God’s oracles (I Peter 4:11), and declares all
the counsel of God (Acts 20:27).
Every
Preacher is wrong who preaches anything else!
(Galatians 1:6-9)
Wouldn’t it be so sad to hear yourself saying in the
day of Judgment,
“Oh,
no! The
Preacher was right after all!”
