Are you
visiting? If so, welcome! We hope your
visit is enjoyable and helpful
spiritually. We seek to worship God in
spirit and truth (John 4:23-24). If
there is some matter of spiritual
concern you wish to discuss, please
let someone know.
Our attendance was up Sunday from the
two previous weeks. Several were back
in town from vacationing; some of our
sick were back with us as well; and,
we were blessed by visitors. Perhaps
we do not say enough about those who
are always present. Your faithfulness
is an honor to God and an
encouragement to all. May your number
increase!
Several of our campers, counselors,
and cooks, will be leaving Sunday for
a week of worship, Bible classes, and
fellowship at Jackson-Smith County
Youth Camp in Holland, KY. (See
article in opposite column.) A special
“THANKS!” to all those staff members
who are taking vacation time or time
off from work to assist. Camp will be
conducted again this year at the
facilities of beautiful Taylor
Christian Camp. The theme of this
year’s camp is “One Solitary Life: A
Study of the Life of Christ”. We will
have “Visitor’s Night” Friday evening.
You are welcome to come for the
devotional period and talent/skit time
which follows. Your child may leave on
Friday night but must contact their
counselor and the director before
leaving camp. Parents, we must depart
camp by 10 A.M. Saturday morning.
Please be there to pick up your
children or make provisions for their
departure prior to that time. Please
pray for camp to be a success.
Bible Bowl study and preparation are
underway. Javin will have extra study
sessions set up after camp. Parents,
if your child is not signed up, let me
urge you to involve them in Bible
Bowl. (A sign up sheet is posted
downstairs on the bulletin board.) It
is a good work and a wonderful way to
study the Bible. Exodus is an exciting
book. If you can assist with
refreshments for the Bible Bowlers,
please sign the posted sheet.
Following a week at camp I will begin
a Gospel Meeting with the Hillcrest
church of Christ in Sumner County,
July 25. Javin will be speaking in my
absence. The meeting will continue
through Friday evening with services
at 7:00 P.M. Please pray for the
success of our efforts in preaching
the gospel.
On a personal note, I want to thank my
wonderful wife for her love and
support over the past forty-four years
as we recently (July 7) celebrated our
Wedding Anniversary.
Let’s all endeavor to be present
Sunday morning. Hope to see you then!
