It was great to see the attendance
“surge” this past Sunday. The weather
was beautiful permitting some of our
seniors to be out, others who had been
ill were back, and we were blessed by
a few visitors who came our way. All
this combined to make it a great day
in service to the Lord!
You are to be commended for your
continued generosity. The
contribution continues to average
above budget. Paul emphasized
“abounding” to the Christians at
Corinth: “As you abound in every
thing, in faith, and utterance, and
knowledge, and in all diligence, and
in your love for us, see that you
abound in this grace also . . . and
God is able to make all grace abound
toward you; that you, always having
all sufficiency of all things, may
abound to every good work” (II
Corinthians 8:7; 9:8, emphasis
added). The Greek term means “over
and above’ (Young’s Analytical
Concordance). Let’s keep on
“abounding”.
We will be attending the lectures at
ETSOP in Knoxville on Tuesday, March
9. The van will be driven. We will
leave early and will return late
afternoon/early evening. Please sign
the list if you wish to go.
Everyone is reminded of the Fellowship
Meal following services this Sunday
night (28th). This is the month for
soup (stew and chili, too) and
sandwiches. Please prepare a pot of
soup and a plate of sandwiches and
come, enjoy the food and fellowship
together!
Javin reports that the recent ski trip
went well with no serious mishaps. I
did hear some comments about being
sore and hurt feelings! A group will
be going to a Predator’s game March
20. The cost is $27.00. Sign up and
see Javin for details.
James and Wilma Richardson celebrated
68 years of wedded bliss this past
Sunday. In addition, Wilma celebrated
her birthday on Tuesday. Married in
1942 they continue to provide a good
example of faithfulness to one another
and to the Lord. Younger couples
would do well to exhibit such
fidelity. I read somewhere that
grandmother can remember her husband’s
first kiss, but granddaughter can’t
remember her first husband!
If you are not presently attending
Bible class, please accept the
challenge and capture the opportunity
to increase your knowledge of God’s
word. You will not only grow in the
grace and knowledge of the Lord, but
will also be blessed by the fellowship
of your fellow brothers and sisters in
Christ.
I
trust each of you have a good rest of
the week. Hope to see you Sunday!
